A very warm welcome to
Oaklands School in Hungerford

Oaklands School is a co-educational, independent Special Educational Needs (SEN) day school for 5 to 16 year olds. We provide unique, contemporary and enjoyable learning experiences years for children and young people with special and individual needs, and we are pleased offer places to those with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in place.

Oaklands School offers a warm and friendly environment for learning. It provides specialist support for pupils with unique learning profiles, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated communication and language needs.

We believe that such differences need not be barriers to success, and we have taken the very best school practices and built them into our school.

After an inspection by Ofsted in June 2024, the school received the top grading of  “Outstanding” for pupil personal development and a “Good” grading across all other areas of the school that includes the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes and leadership and management. The report said: "The school uses the “Oaklands Way” to make the school values of respect, honesty, kindness, commitment and creativity clear."

Our curriculum offer is broad, balanced, and personalised to meet each individual pupil’s needs and is supplemented by a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

Our approach fits perfectly with the children’s EHCP plans that encourage personalisation, partnership working, accountability and best value for money.

We welcome parental and carer engagement and feedback on all aspects of our school. Our success will be measured by your success.
