“Mighty oaks from little acorns grow”

Chula Bishop

The proverb “Mighty oaks from little acorns grow” comes from the epic poem 'Troilus and Criseyde' which was written by Geoffrey Chaucer in 1374. Acorns symbolise strength, growth, potential and perseverance. The small but hardy acorn reminds us that great things can come from the smallest beginnings.

From the beginning of this term we have introduced our Acorn Certificates of Achievement.

Every Friday, during our celebration assembly, we will be awarding a pupil, or pupils, from each class with this special certificate to recognise their academic and/or personal achievements during the week.

The recipients of our Acorn Certificates of Achievement can be found in our weekly term time Parents and Carers Newsletter.
